Charlie Wilson will be bringing the soul to Hillary Clinton’s Get Out the Vote rally in South Carolina. The presidential nominee will be hosting the free and public rally on Thursday in Charleston, ahead of Saturday’s Democratic South Carolina primary.
The R&B vet and former Gap Band frontman started 2016 with two Grammy nominations: a nod for best traditional R&B performance for “My Favorite Part of You” and another for best R&B album for “Forever Charlie.” Last year, Uncle Charlie released his seventh studio effort, Forever Charlie, as well his memoir, I Am Charlie Wilson.
Wilison is the latest hit maker to come out in support of Clinton — who would become the nation’s first female president if elected — following Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and others. Last October, the “Firework” singer performed a medley of hits and “America the Beautiful” at a rally in Iowa while Lovato brought her hit “Confident” to another Iowa rally in support of Clinton last month.
